We are delighted to announce that Kelly Brantner, CEO of Business for Better Society, has officially joined the board of Photo Start, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in New York. This exciting partnership brings together the visionary leadership of Ms. Brantner with the mission of empowering under-resourced young people to imagine, create, and choose their future through the transformative power of photography.

Photo Start is a global network of photographers, artists, teachers, and volunteers dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of young individuals. The organization collaborates with local community organizations worldwide to provide digital photography programs, integrating visual storytelling with digital literacy. Through applied learning, Photo Start equips students with essential 21st-century skills, enabling them to thrive as learners, workers, and global citizens.

During a recent visit to Homabay, Kenya, Ms. Brantner had the privilege of meeting several graduates from Photo Start’s program. The encounter provided her with firsthand insight into the remarkable impact of the organization’s work. The graduates passionately shared the techniques they had learned throughout the program, highlighting the pivotal role that photography plays in their lives. Through their captured images, they are able to tell stories that showcase the positive aspects, struggles, and hopes within their communities.

By joining the board of Photo Start, Ms. Brantner brings a wealth of expertise and a strong commitment to empowering youth.
