We’re thrilled to announce that two remarkable organizations, Shabab Peace and Environment Action Group (SPEAK) Uganda and Chitani Community Sustainable Development Organization (CHICOSUDO), have successfully completed the Street Business School (SBS) trainer certification process. This achievement was made possible through the support of the Business for Better Society community, marking a significant step towards empowering local communities through entrepreneurship.
Street Business School: A Catalyst for Change
Street Business School is a global leader in entrepreneurship training, dedicated to eradicating generational poverty by empowering women as entrepreneurs. Their mission is to equip women living in poverty with the knowledge and skills needed to build sustainable businesses, while also instilling self-belief and the ability to seize opportunities.
The SBS program offers a comprehensive curriculum covering essential business skills, including:
- Getting out of your comfort zone

- Record-keeping and bookkeeping
- Market research
- Business planning
- Growing your customer base
- Money management
Their proven approach has yielded impressive results, with graduates experiencing an average 211% increase in income and 89% of participants owning at least one business two years after graduation.
SPEAK Uganda: Fostering Peace and Environmental Action
Shabab Peace and Environment Action Group (SPEAK) Uganda is an organization committed to promoting peace and environmental sustainability. By becoming SBS-certified trainers, SPEAK Uganda can now integrate entrepreneurship education into their existing programs, creating a powerful synergy between environmental stewardship and economic empowerment.
CHICOSUDO: Driving Sustainable Development
Chitani Community Sustainable Development Organization (CHICOSUDO) focuses on fostering sustainable development at the community level. With their newly acquired SBS certification, CHICOSUDO is poised to enhance their impact by equipping community members with vital entrepreneurial skills, contributing to long-term economic resilience.
The Power of Partnership
The certification of SPEAK Uganda and CHICOSUDO as SBS trainers exemplifies the transformative potential of partnerships in the social impact sector. By collaborating with Street Business School and receiving support from Business for Better Society, these organizations are now part of a global movement that has reached over 30,000 women across 21 countries.
This initiative aligns perfectly with SBS’s scaling strategy, which aims to replicate their training model in new locations through a social franchise approach. By empowering local organizations to deliver the SBS curriculum, the impact of entrepreneurship education can be amplified and tailored to specific community needs.
Looking Ahead
As SPEAK Uganda and CHICOSUDO begin implementing the SBS program in their respective communities, we anticipate seeing the ripple effects of increased entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. The success of SBS graduates speaks volumes:
– 89% of graduates have businesses two years after completing the program
– 211% average increase in income
– An astounding 1,462% average increase for women who joined earning less than $0.65 cents per day
These statistics underscore the transformative power of entrepreneurship education in combating extreme poverty.
We at Business for Better Society are very proud to have facilitated this partnership and look forward to witnessing the positive changes that SPEAK Uganda and CHICOSUDO will bring to their communities through the Street Business School program. This collaboration represents a significant step towards our shared goal of creating sustainable, community-driven solutions to poverty.
As we celebrate this milestone, we’re reminded that when we invest in women entrepreneurs, we invest in the future of entire communities. Here’s to the continued success of SPEAK Uganda, CHICOSUDO, and the countless lives they will touch through their newly acquired entrepreneurship training skills.
