We’re thrilled to share that the latest cohort of the Business for Better Society Microbusiness Incubator in Homa Bay County, Kenya has successfully completed their training and with it, 18 remarkable young mothers have officially launched their own businesses.

Over the past four months, in partnership with our long-standing collaborator Activate Action, these women have journeyed from economic vulnerability to becoming confident entrepreneurs. Using the Street Business School methodology, they received comprehensive entrepreneurship training, then personalised business start-up kits, and now ongoing coaching support to ensure their new ventures thrive.

Their businesses span food and agriculture, retail, and personal services. Each enterprise is more than a source of income; it’s a symbol of resilience, determination, and the power of opportunity.

This marks the sixth cohort of the incubator, bringing the total to over 150 women entrepreneurs who are now creating ripples of change in their families and communities. Our latest program alumni are not only building sustainable livelihoods but also serving as role models for others, showing that breaking the cycle of generational poverty is possible.

We invite you to read the full Impact Report to learn more about their inspiring journeys, the training they received, and the transformations now underway in Homa Bay.
