At Business for Better Society (BBS), we believe that strengthening nonprofits means strengthening the people and teams behind the work.
For the sixth year, BBS is opening applications for its Team Coaching Programme, offered through our Coaching for a Better Society initiative and in collaboration with Inpower One.
The programme provides nonprofit teams with 10 hours of professional team coaching at no cost.
Why Team Coaching?
Nonprofit teams often work under significant pressure. Resources are limited, responsibilities are broad and there is always more to do in support of the organisation’s mission.
Yet teams rarely have the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day work and consider a fundamental question:
How could we work better together?
That is where team coaching can make a difference.
Team coaching is not the same as team building. It isn’t about bringing a team together for a day of activities or exercises. Instead, it creates a structured space for a team to reflect on how it works together, explore challenges and identify its own opportunities for improvement.
For a nonprofit, that might mean looking at how the team communicates, makes decisions, handles competing priorities, manages disagreement or shares responsibility for achieving its mission.
And teams don’t have to be large. The International Coaching Federation defines a team as two or more people working together towards a common goal. This makes team coaching relevant to small nonprofits as well as larger organisations.
A Programme That Benefits Both Sides
The BBS Team Coaching Programme was developed to create a practical opportunity for nonprofits to access professional team coaching while also supporting coaches in their professional development.
The coaches participating in the programme are ICF-certified coaches completing team coaching certification. As part of their certification, they are required to gain practical experience coaching teams.
Through the programme, coaches can build that experience while nonprofit teams receive professional coaching pro bono.
It is a simple idea with a shared benefit: professional development for coaches and stronger teams for nonprofits.
Now Accepting Applications
After six years, the programme has become an established part of BBS’s work to support the nonprofit sector.
We are now inviting nonprofit teams to apply for the latest round of the programme.
If your team could benefit from having dedicated time and professional support to examine how you work together, this may be an opportunity worth exploring.
Applications are now open.
