This semester, students in Ms. Paula Bernardino’s communications class at McGill University developed communication plans for the documentary project NDEGE as part of a course assignment.

Working from a set of objectives for the film, students were asked to identify ways to expand its audience and increase its impact. Each student produced a detailed communications strategy aligned with those goals.

The assignment generated a range of practical ideas and recommendations, including several approaches not previously considered. The quality of the work demonstrated both thoughtful research and a strong understanding of strategic communications.

Projects like this highlight the value of connecting classroom learning with real-world social initiatives. Nonprofit organisations can benefit from fresh perspectives, while students gain experience applying their skills to meaningful challenges.

We are grateful to Ms. Bernardino for incorporating NDEGE into her course and to her students for the time and effort they invested in the project.

Thank you, Ms. Bernardino and class, on behalf of everyone involved with NDEGE.
