“Sunday, October 18 was a beautiful fall day in most cities across China. On that day over 180 EGRC university students, alumni and some supporters gathered in 16 different cities to celebrate EGRC’s 15th Anniversary.
This was EGRC’s alumni and university students’ first in-person gathering this year, and the girls had great anticipation towards the day. They creatively hosted a variety of activities including walking, hiking, visiting museums, making dumplings, and a mentoring session was hosted in Shanghai. In Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu, the girls even organized a Toastmasters event.”
In other news, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Canada-China diplomatic relations, the Canada China Business Council (CCBC) hosted their AGM where they presented 5 at 50 Award to five Canadians to recognize their significant contributions to the relationship building between the two countries. Founder Ching Tien received this award in the category of Women. Under Ching’s vision and leadership, EGRC’s work in rural China is an example of people-to-people diplomacy, and a reminder of the universal values cherished by citizens of both nations.
