At Business for Better Society, we often talk about what it looks like when purpose meets opportunity. For our former intern that intersection just became very real.

Aaron, a senior at a Cleveland based high school, was recently named a recipient of the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, a highly competitive national award that provides up to $40,000 in college funding, along with mentorship and a paid internship at Amazon.

This fall, Aaron will attend Cornell University, where he plans to study computer science or electrical engineering, fields that align closely with the scholarship’s mission to support future innovators and technologists.

The BBS Connection

While this recognition highlights Aaron’s academic excellence, those of us at Business for Better Society have seen another dimension of his story: his commitment to impact.

As a BBS intern, Aaron stood out not just for his ability to think critically about how business and technology can serve broader societal needs. Whether contributing to research, engaging in discussions about responsible innovation, or supporting mission-driven initiatives, he consistently brought a sense of purpose to his work.

That mindset, using skills to create value beyond oneself, is exactly what the Amazon Future Engineer program seeks to cultivate. It’s also what defines the next generation of leaders we aim to support at BBS.

Looking Ahead

Aaron’s journey from BBS intern to national scholarship recipient shows what’s possible when talented young people are given both opportunity and a framework for thinking about impact.

As he heads to Cornell and prepares for the academic and professional experiences ahead, including an eventual internship within Amazon’s engineering ecosystem, we’re confident he will continue to build, question, and lead with intention.

We’re proud to have been a small part of his journey and even more excited to see where he goes next.

Congratulations Aaron from all of us at Business for Better Society!
